Apprentice Videographer (Content Creation) – Level 3 – Based in London

Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades A – C, including Maths and English.

About the role: 

We have a new exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Videographer (Content Creator). Initially based in London. This role with give you the opportunity to work for a market leading company, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience to ensure you develop to your full potential throughout the apprenticeship.

You will be responsible for developing creative content to support the delivery of Specific Business Units and Group strategy as well as internal and external messaging.

You will work towards a Level 3 Junior Content Producer Apprenticeship over 12 months.

In addition to supporting you through your formal apprentice qualification, you will follow the Balfour Beatty Enhanced Apprentice programme. This is a mix of development events and activities, plus in year 2 you will compete in the Balfour Beatty Brathay Apprentice Challenge, to help us find the Balfour Beatty Apprentice Team of the Year! The challenge is a mix of community engagement activities and a team building event in the Lake District. There is also the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award as part of your apprenticeship.

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be able to develop your career further within Balfour Beatty.

This includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below: 


·      Working with our videographer to capture high quality video footage 

·      Capturing high-quality photography of our projects and people

·      Creating animated content, ranging from GIFs to full animations

·      Using specialist software to create compelling videos e.g., Premier Pro, in line with the Balfour Beatty brand standards

·      Editing images for use across our communications channels

·      Developing storyboards, production schedules and cascade plans to ensure the timely delivery of engaging content and maximise the reach of our content

·      Keeping up-to-date with the latest video, animation and photography techniques and trends and applying these in your work

·      Regularly monitoring metrics to ensure videos are providing a Return On Investment (ROI) to the organisation

Who we are looking for:

  •     Must have an interest in videography, photography, filming and editing
  •      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
  •      Good team player who can build relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  •      A strong interest in a career in content creation / communications
  •      Strongly focused on delivering results collaboratively, with quality and creativity
  •      Adapts positively to changing business demands
  •      A self-starter with good organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
  •      A driving licence, or a desire to get one, and willingness to travel 
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades A – C, including Maths and English
